Used mounts and trackers

The mount holds the telescope steady and moves it across the sky, and a good one matters as much as the optics. Alt-azimuth mounts move up-down and left-right and are quick to set up. German equatorial mounts tilt one axis toward the celestial pole so a single motor can follow the stars, which is what long-exposure photography needs. Star trackers are small equatorial mounts for a camera and lens. Used, check the payload rating against your scope, and make sure the hand controller, power supply, counterweights and tripod are all there.
