Takahashi · Refractor · Up to 4 inches
The FS-60Q is Takahashi's FS-60CB with the CQ1.7x extender built into the tube. That stretches the 60 mm fluorite objective from 355 mm to 600 mm at f/10, and Takahashi says the result is sharper for visual use than the plain FS-60CB, with a flatter field. Take the extender module out and you're back to the FS-60CB, so one small tube can work at 255 mm with the reducer, 370 mm with the flattener and 600 mm as a Q. At 1.6 kg it's still a grab-and-go scope, with a rack-and-pinion focuser and enough focal length for the Moon, planets and double stars. Takahashi sells the extender module on its own too, so check the listing really includes it.
The full kit
Check the listing photos against this list, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. Plenty of listings are the tube alone or the mount alone, and a missing hand controller, power supply or counterweight should come off the price.
The extender module is separate and can be taken out, so a listing called FS-60Q may be missing it. The front element is fluorite, so check it for scratches and cleaning marks. Small adapters go missing easily.

We haven’t been through this model’s listings yet. Search eBay and run every listing through the checklist above. Ask for a photo looking into the optics with a flashlight and one of everything included, and pass on any seller who won’t send them.
